To reproduce full-color images, we use digital 4-color process presses. In 4-color process printing, four ink colors are placed on the label in layers of dots that combine to create the illusion of thousands of colors.
To further understand this process, view a picture in a magazine through a magnifying glass. You will be able to see the 4-color process dots (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) that combine to form the picture.
4-color process inks are transparent. If you are printing on clear film, fluorescent, or metallic material, you might want to print white behind a picture, barcode or text so that it is more easily seen. Adding white is an additional cost.
When needing a special shape label for Thermal transfer labels but not needing print we can offer any shape or size label without the cost of expensive tooling. Most products can be finished on 1” or 3” cores with any outside OD that you or your customer need.
